  1. Hi,

Can you support us with any tips how to deal with the stress?

Should we e.g. go to the cinema on Monday after 7 months of serious preparation?

    Thank you for your support,

    Regards
GOOD LUCK next week on Tue, Wed, Thu

    1. Most likely you will not recover from the stress of studying in only the last evening. I suggest you stop stuidying for this year's EQE immediately. Thus you may enter the exam fully recovered and relaxed.

      Enjoy!

  3. Regarding paper C:

I never get it totally done.

There was no time left for the last attack (claim 6).

Will I lose marks for not filling the form and if yes, how many?

    1. Yes you lose marks for not fillîg the form, I presume a few only but these were easy marks. Filling the form is the first thing to do actually at start, then you don't need to think about it at the end of the exam.

Claim 6 was an independent claim. Better strategy was to attack first all the independent claims 1, 5 and 6, and then move to the dependent claims 3 (2 alternatives) and 4, since claim 2 was Art. 100(c).

    2. Last year I did not fill the form. For some reason I though I read somewhere that form does not carry points. However, I found that although form does not carry points, you can loose between 2 to 4 points if you had not filled it. It depends on if you had given all the required details for the opposition to be admissible in the written paper itself (R.76,77 EPC). In which case, you don't loose points.

I got 41 points last year and I keep beating myself up thinking maybe it was the 4 points which I lost by not filling the form. So this time I filled the form immediately after I read the letter.

Any qualified guess on when the model answers for A and B chemistry might be available?

  5. Any idea when the Main Exam results will be out? Seems to be some delay compared to last year...

    1. Apparently the Exam Secretariat said last week that the results were definitely going to be out this week, but now they're saying they won't be out till the middle of next week at the earliest, and perhaps even the week after or even the week after that (last week of July). They said they'd email candidates before the results are issued to let them know when the results will be online.

Does anyone have any idea why the results are being delayed? It seems odd to me that it looks like they may not be out till after the enrolment period for next year's EQEs has opened (14 July).

    2. Thanks for letting us know. I am spending far too much working time checking the results page at the EPO...

    3. Yes, it does seem odd that results may not be out until after the 2017 enrolment opens / revision courses start to fill up. Surely they have marked our scripts and have collated the results by now?

    4. "Apparently the Exam Secretariat said last week that ...."

Thank you for information, but, please let us know if its is something we can trust in.

    5. I wrote to examination secretariat which was really fast responding that:

The online publication of the results will take place between mid of next week and end of July at the latest. Candidates will receive an e-mail first to inform them on the exact date. The dispatch of the letters will then follow.

    6. The end of July seems little late. Why no earlier? Why no guarantee? Surely, they know when they will publish and can settle our minds over another weekend wait.

    7. probably because "you can never know" what could happen.
I think we should read the answer as "not earlier than mid of next week" meaning that they know that it will be mid of next week but they prudently don't want to clearly say "id of next week"

    8. It looks like mid-week is pretty early this time...

  6. Should beknown! Results are known. Not published though. That is tough to wait. We will maybe know this week. Not today!

    1. As Alessandro wrote. You could never know. Maybe never? Or you know? It is not inambigously clear. But! We could try to know! It is mid of the week. Is that Wed or Thu? You can never know! As Alessandro said.

  9. I am a nerd. I calculated the pass rates (excluding zero markings):
    pass rate A: 0,57
    pass rate B: 0,66
    pass rate C: 0,41
    pass rate D: 0,44
I did A and B and passed both of them :)

    1. The pass rate of Paper B is very high. Paper C confirms to be a pain in the neck.

  10. Is there still enough time to prepare for paper D? I am a bit late. Or should I focus on the other three papers, especially paper C?
