Topic-Related Index to the EPC and PCT

Authors: Roel van Woudenberg and Cees Mulder

The T-RI book provides a quick reference for daily practice, the EQE and the EPAC, convering the European Patent Conventioj (EPC), the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT), and some related legal texts, such as those relating to the Unitary Patent and the Unified Patent Court.

In the framework of European patent law, information is scattered over many legal references. This makes it complicated to study a certain topic, for example when handling a complicated case for a client.

The book is primarily aimed at practicing European patent attorneys, at trainee patent attorneys as well as at formalities officers in the patent practice. This book enables to quickly identify and locate a relevant Article or Rule in the EPC and/or the PCT when looking for information on a particular topic. At the same time, it provides reference to the relevant finding place in the EPO Guidelines (GL/EPO, GL/PCT-EPO), the PCT Applicant’s Guide and the Euro-PCT Guide. Since the 2023 edition, references to the main provisions relating to the European patent with unitary effect (‘Unitary Patent’) and the Unified Patent Court are also included. Also references to the Regulation on Discipline and epi's Code of Conduct have been added in this edition in view of their inclusions in the EQE syllabus for main exam papers of the New EQE.

The Cross-Referenced Patent Cooperation Treaty

Authors: Cees Mulder and Roel van Woudenberg

The Xref PCT book covers the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) and the Regulations under the PCT.

The large number of references in the articles and rules makes the PCT difficult to read. The idea behind this book is to add cross-references to the articles and rules, thereby giving the reader a much better overview of the structure of the PCT and allowing the reader to navigate through the provisions of the PCT in an efficient manner.

Numerous references to the PCT Applicant's Guide are also included in the book, providing the reader with additional information.
